Ascari Blue Metallic is a vibrant, energetic medium-to-dark blue metallic with a bold, performance-inflected character. Named after the Ascari racetrack in southern Spain — which itself honors the legendary Formula One champion Alberto Ascari, two-time world champion in 1952 and 1953 — the color carries genuine motorsport heritage in its name. Porsche's own description calls it "vibrant and eye-catching," noting it is "associated with speed, power and high energy." The color originates from Audi's performance palette, where it was associated with the R8 supercar, giving it performance credibility before it ever appeared on a Porsche. Ascari Blue Metallic (code X5F) was offered as a one-year-only standard color on the 911 in 2015 — making it one of the rarest modern production colors in the entire catalogue by virtue of its single-year availability. It has since been offered as a PTS option. The PCA places it on their five paint-can rarity scale, identifying it as one of the rarest blues currently orderable on a new Porsche.
