Audrain Green Metallic is a rich, blue-green metallic that shifts between teal and deep emerald depending on lighting — at #3b6955 it reads as a dark, complex green with obvious blue undertones, giving it a quality reminiscent of tourmaline or malachite gemstones. The origin story is one of the most compelling in the entire PTS catalogue. Audrain Automobile Museum in Newport, Rhode Island commissioned the color through Porsche's Paint to Sample Plus program for a 992.1 GT3 display car, working with renowned Porsche customizer Rod Emory who provided the original color sample. The development process took over 3.5 years to complete, as Porsche conducted extensive durability, UV resistance, and reproducibility testing. The color is inspired by both the Audrain Museum's own logo color and the classic 356-era Lago Green Metallic. Following the GT3's debut at the museum, Porsche formally added Audrain Green Metallic (6RY) to the PTS catalogue in 2024 as part of the 11-color expansion that also included colors developed with Sean Wotherspoon. It is now available on the 911 and Taycan.
