Coffee (Cocoa) Brown

A dark, straightforward non-metallic brown in the warm cocoa-coffee register — neither as deep as espresso nor as light as caramel — Coffee Brown (Kaffeebraun, code 6837) was offered on the 911 and 912 from 1966 to 1969, making it one of the earliest browns in Porsche's palette. Rennbow notes it replaced the similar Togo Brown. The German PFF forum thread documents a 912 delivered in Cocoa Brown in 1967 among only eleven examples in that color that year — illustrating how rarely this color was specified even in period. Porsche Newsroom has noted that 'even coffee brown suits the 911.' Given the very low order volumes even when the color was current, the 1966–1969 window, and the general attrition rate of early 911s and 912s, surviving factory examples in this color are among the rarer early Porsche specifications and of significant interest to air-cooled enthusiasts focused on the long-hood era.
