Faience Yellow

A warm, golden-toned yellow that is visually close to Speed Yellow but fractionally deeper and richer — associated above all with the Porsche Carrera GT, the limited-production V10 supercar on which it served as one of the defining color choices — Faience Yellow (Fayencegelb, code 1C1) takes its name from a picturesque village in the Alpes-Maritimes region of France. Rennbow confirms it on the Carrera GT in 2005, race cars in 2004, and the 911 from 2005 to 2007. The 986 Boxster color guide confirms it as a single-year 986 option in 2004. The PCA's review of Porsche yellows notes its similarity to Speed Yellow while describing it as 'the Carrera GT-only color' for most enthusiasts, reflecting its overwhelming association with that specific model despite its appearance on other platforms. The Carrera GT association has given Faience Yellow a specific collectibility that few other Porsche colors can match — named for a French village, the color became the visual signature of one of the most dramatic hypercars Porsche has ever built.
