Gulf Orange

Gulf Orange (Gulforange, code 19) is a warm, vivid solid orange at #FF8C2F — a clean, bright, fully saturated orange without significant red or yellow deviation, which gives it the same kind of direct, energetic presence as Gulf Blue and makes the two colors sing together as the legendary Gulf Oil racing livery. Porsche's own documentation confirms that Gulf Orange, like Gulf Blue, is associated with Gulf Oil's racing car paintwork, and that from 1972 it was available as a paint colour on all 911 models under the changing colour codes 6161, 6110, and 019. As a solid colour it has a rich, non-metallic quality that Porsche describes as enthusiastic, exciting, and adventurous — and notes that it harmonises particularly well with shades of blue and grey. Gulforange was one of five colours of the special model 911 Turbo S 20 Years Porsche China Edition (992) produced in 2021. The database entry uses code 19, the earliest designation. Four documented community examples reflect a colour that is sought primarily for the Gulf livery combination, making it one of the rare instances where a paint's cultural context is inseparable from the colour itself.
