Radium Green

Radium Green is a delicate, silver-tinged pale green that belongs among the earliest colors in Porsche's documented history — code 510 (Radiumgrün) renders what Rennbow describes as a delicate silver-green finish that stood out among the very few metallic paints of the early 1950s, capturing the understated beauty of the pre-A 356 era with a subtle metallic sheen. The hex (#BBD1CA) confirms a soft, muted color in the pale sage-mint register with enough shimmer to read as more than flat. The name references the element radium, whose compounds emit a faint greenish luminescence — a reference that recalls the early 20th-century use of radium-based paint on watch dials, which glowed a similar spectral green. Records from the 356 registry and Glasurit paint archives date the color to approximately 1950–1953 on pre-A 356 models, with the third 356 delivered to Australia confirmed as an early example in this color. Radium Green is not part of the official PTS catalog — Carscoops confirmed in 2020 that a 991.2 re-sprayed in this color had it applied by a third-party shop rather than through Porsche's own program — making surviving factory-original examples among the most historically significant early 356 color survivors.
