Shiraz Red Metallic (Y4S) is a deep, warm metallic red named for the Shiraz grape — the variety used to produce full-bodied, richly colored red wines in regions from the Rhône Valley to South Australia — and the name perfectly captures the color's character: a luxurious, wine-dark red with a warm purple or chestnut-brown undertone that Porsche's own description confirms. The metallic finish is refined rather than sparkly, adding depth and a shifting quality in different light conditions without overwhelming the color's fundamentally deep, sophisticated character. Originally developed by Audi — where it appears on models within the VW Group's broad color-sharing program — Shiraz Red Metallic was incorporated into Porsche's expanded PTS catalog in 2023, where it has been offered primarily on the Cayenne, a model whose larger body panels allow the color's depth and warmth to develop fully. The color occupies a distinct position in Porsche's red palette, sitting well below the intensity of Guards Red or Carmine Red and considerably darker and warmer than conventional metallics like Arena Red.
