Silver Green Diamond (250, Silbergründiamant) is the earlier catalog designation for what is more commonly known as Ice Green Metallic — a classic light metallic green with significant silver, grey, and teal undertones that shifts in different lighting between an icy, muted green and a cool blue-grey. Carpaints.co documentation confirms that Ice Green Metallic carried paint code 250 from its 1974 introduction before transitioning to code 266 from 1976 onward, and it was also known under both the Silbergründiamant name and the English Silver Green Diamond designation. The color is a sophisticated mid-1970s metallic that reflects the era's taste for subdued, shimmering metallics as a counterpoint to the bold solids of the earlier long-hood period. It appeared on the 911 in the first year of the G-body generation, where the new impact-bumper design gave the color new body surfaces to work with, and pairs particularly well with the early G-model's chrome engine grille. With only two paint cans on the Rennbow scale, it was seldom chosen, making surviving unrestored examples a genuine curiosity.
