Tourmaline (Turmalin) Green Metallic

Tourmaline Green Metallic (Y20), Turmalingrün in German, is a saturated teal-green metallic with a blue-green character reminiscent of the semi-precious tourmaline mineral for which it is named. The hex confirms a medium-bright, distinctly aquatic blue-green — not a dark forest green, not a pure teal, but an intense mid-spectrum hue that occupies unusual territory within Porsche's green palette. The metallic particles add shimmer and depth, giving the colour a gem-like quality. Rennbow identifies it as an exceedingly rare 964 color found primarily on Rest-of-World market 964 RS examples from 1992, making it one of the most specialist and hard-to-document colors in the entire air-cooled range. The 964 RS was itself a limited homologation special sold in small numbers primarily to European and international markets, and the choice of Tourmaline Green Metallic on any RS was a further rarity within an already rare model. Documented examples are extremely scarce in the collector record. The rarity score of one out of five appears to reflect a classification anomaly rather than genuine frequency, as the colour is by all accounts a genuine unicorn find on the 964 RS platform.
