Viper Green

Viper Green (225/L22P), Vipergrün in German, is one of the most celebrated and historically significant colours in the entire Porsche catalogue — a brilliant, almost neon non-metallic green with a slight yellow undertone that creates an unmistakable radiance and instant visual presence. Rennbow and Porsche's own PTS documentation both identify it as almost no other colour being as closely associated with the 911 Carrera RS 2.7 as Viper Green — the 1972–1973 homologation special that remains one of the most revered air-cooled Porsches ever built, where the colour became part of the car's iconic identity alongside its ducktail spoiler and lightweight specification. PCA records confirm the colour code POR225 and note that both "Viper Green" and "Kelly Green" were used as names for this code in 1972 and 1973. Originally available in 1972 and 1973, the colour was revived as a PTS option from the 2010s onward and appeared on modern GT cars including the 991 GT3 RS and GT2 RS as an accent colour on wings and aero elements. Its PTS status makes it available across the 911, 718, Taycan, Panamera, and Macan. With a rarity of five out of five in its original form, surviving RS 2.7s and early 911s in original Viper Green are among the most sought-after Porsches at auction.
