Volcano Grey Metallic

Volcano Grey Metallic (M7R), Vulkangrau Metallic in German with auxiliary code 2H, is a cool, deep grey metallic with subtle blue undertones that give it a clean, sophisticated presence without the warmth of taupe or the flatness of a neutral silver. The hex of #434343 confirms a very dark, near-graphite grey — one of the deeper metallics in Porsche's contemporary range. Rennbow characterises it with characteristic candour as another in a seemingly endless number of variations on the dark metallic grey theme, noting that Porsche and its buyers are positively addicted to colours in this register. It was introduced on the Macan from 2017, expanding to the Panamera in 2018 and the Taycan in 2020, then continued through to the current production year across those platforms. A 2019–2024 911 application is also documented in touch-up paint records. Color N Drive confirms it across 911, Cayenne, Macan, Panamera, Taycan, 718 Boxster, and 718 Cayman from 2016 to 2026. With a rarity of three out of five it is genuinely uncommon relative to the popularity of dark grey metallics, reflecting a colour that has been consistently available but is less frequently encountered than Agate Grey or GT Silver on the sports car models.
