Wine Red Metallic (895), Weinrot Metallic in German under codes 895 and L895, is a deep, rich red metallic with the dusky, blue-tinged warmth of aged red wine — darker than Guards Red, deeper than Signal Red, and significantly cooler and more complex than Carmine Red. The hex of #C02D16 confirms a saturated but not overly bright red with noticeable depth, while the metallic finish adds a dimensional shimmer. It appeared on the 911 SC and 911 Turbo in 1981 and on the 928 and 911 SC in 1982, placing it at the heart of the early G-body era when Porsche was briefly embracing a broader spectrum of metallic reds. Color N Drive confirms it on the 911 and 928 from 1981 to 1982 under auxiliary codes X8/Y9. Rennbow documents it across both the 911 and 928 platforms for those two years, and surviving examples in original condition are considered attractive finds by collectors who prefer the smoky, sophisticated register of a metallic wine-red over the brighter standard reds.
